VIDEO of a man wielding a samurai-style sword has been shared online after two people were injured in an alleged attempted murder.
Two men were stabbed in a “grievous and painful assault” as police responded to reports of a gunman, police said.
A large police cordon remains in place at Horsham Road, Crawley, after police were called to the scene at 7.40pm yesterday.
Police used a tasers before arresting a 32-year-old man on suspicion of double attempted murder.
The victims were taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital and East Surrey Hospital, where they remain in serious but stable conditions.
Images have since surfaced online, appearing to show a man wielding a samurai-style sword in the area.
Anyone with a video of the incident has been urged to contact the police rather than posting it online.
Detective Inspector Jason Hazzard said: “This was a serious and painful assault on two people, and residents can expect to see a continued police presence in the area while our investigation is ongoing.
“We would love to hear from anyone who saw what happened, or who was able to capture relevant cell phone or dash cam footage of the incident.
“We ask people not to share these images on social media but to contact us so that they can be used to support our ongoing investigation.”

Much of Horsham Road remains closed while officers investigate the incident.
